I was able to get one of my "unicorn" guns, a pristine Dan Wesson Pistol Pack in .357.

I would like to aquire Sgt. Yorks P-17 he captured all those Germans with, or Audie Murphy's M1 Garand. Something with some history behind it.

The things that fill our hearts with joy, case hardening, long slides, stag, 1911's, big knockers.........happy, happy, happy.

It's a really nice shooting gun, the only other 1911 I have to compare it to is my RIA tactical in .45. Which is a nice gun and has never had any issues, but the trail boss is obviously much smoother.

Now you gone and done it, I gotta rework my Unicorn gun list, lets see Trail Boss, page 26, Item 13. Hmmm moving to page 1 item 1. Check.

willwork4guns, that's a good handle. I'd sell blood for guns if anyone wanted it.

Here I thought that this was a thread about what guns to use for shooting unicorns.
You know, just like "what caliber for bears".
Now I find out that it is not what I thought.

Thanks, now I need a case hardened long slide 1911.

Good luck buddy. I been looking the last half hour or so, none to be found that I can see.
I was just thinking about the Westerner, just 5" but still case hardened, would fit in my holsters, could work into rotation if it's reliable.
Just something about that long slide that is calling to me though.

Well I'm off to find a Westerner.

For Unicorns Jack O'Connor always went with the 270. Elmer Keith of course went with the old medium standard 375H&H. Your choice.

Well can't find a Westerner either.

Guess I'm gonna stay the course and leave the Thompson 1911 at the of the list. Right next to the ever present Schofield and Seecamp, and HK P7 and CZ 75 and CZ 97, and on and on and on.

Some say you reach a point where the growing list tapers off or goes away completely, no sign of that happening with me so far. Maybe I'm cursed.

Probably have to pull the Hearse over at a gunshop on the way to the hole to check things out to take with me.

On the Auto Mag there? I could have the owner send along a hand so I could custom fit the finger spots etc.

I've actually been very lucky on finger grooves, I try to make em fit me and sometimes allow for a larger hand and so far the few I've done have worked for the recipients. I don't like making them much but its different now and then.

I think the last set was for Beardogs 29. They felt good to me and he said they worked for him so got lucky once again or he's a liar just trying to make me feel good. He wouldn't do that would he? Ya think?
