Les Baer has a long slide 1911 in their catalog:
    Tom
Live today, tomorrow may not come!
    Boberg XR9S
    Kahr CW40
    Springfield Armory 1911
    Dan Wesson Revolver

HY*NDAI is to cars, what Caracal, Hi-Point, and Jennings is to handguns. The cars may or may not run ok, but the corporation SUCKS.

Yeah, but it is not case hardened!

Like you Bawanna, I looked for the Westerner. NO can find for sale.

All this time I never put two and two together and realized that Olympic Arms is semi local to me. In Olympia. Who woulda thunk?

I went to their website and they even said they have a showroom and Wa residents can actually go there and buy direct.

On the down side it said they have nothing, no AR's, no 1911's, no serialized major components or parts for either. I have not use at all for their AR's, but good reports on their 1911's.

They are not accepting new dealers.

Hopefully just super busy like everyone else trying to catch up after the panic.

Course history repeats itself and usually when I decided I want something they are discontinued and are now collector items and 5x their original price. It's happened several times. I'm cursed I tell ya, cursed.

My son has the 5" version with all the porting, that thing would be a dream to shoot.

Maybe a Westerner for the case hardening and one of those for a long slide.
I'll never be rich enough to get a Les Bauer.

I went to the Olympic Arms web site also and thought that you would have been in the van by now.

Also, noted that they had no stock!

Not sure if that Westerner looks as good as the one posted in this thread though.

I was really sure I'd settled on a Kobra Carry till this thread.
That case hardened Westerner is breathtaking.

I was in a dealer's shop one time who showed me a "custom, case hardened" TZ-75, with "custom wood grips". It was back in the day when those guns were all the rage in IPSC. It had a very light, "custom trigger" too. I did not have the money he wanted so had to pass. It was a pretty gun, though.

A year or so later I ran into a friend who told me his house had burned down about a year back. Lost all his stuff, but his TZ-75 survived. Funny thing was, he said the grips melted but the steel got a cool case hardened look. The springs lost most of their strength. Made for a light trigger pull, but he doubted it would function. He sold it at a huge loss to this dealer we knew....

Locals in the Springfield, Missouri, area will probably be able to name the dealer.

Sorry, off topic there. Another unicorn for me would be a really nice Galil. Not that rare I know, just spendy for what they are. I guess I don't have anything exotic I am after beyond the Dragunov. I need to do some soul searching and come up with something suitable.

I bought two of those back in '79 for some dirt cheap price. One to keep and one to sell to cover the purchase of both. Sold them both in 1980 'cause I decided I really didn't care for them.

Also, to really cement my pariah status. Other than T/C single shots, I've never really had any attraction to nor use for longslide pistol/ long barrel handguns.

I'm not even fond of 5" 1911s. Much prefer 4" and LW to boot.

Your just trying to make me cry. I can see right through this post.

I like TC's too, got a 10" 30-30. Quite fun and quite accurate out a long long ways.
