Yep...and another will cross your path if it was meant to be.

Your Single Six still looks to be in excellent shape and the wear looks good and honest on it. I have one similar to yours, but it had been rode hard and put it away wet (more than once) before it came into my hands. It's got some spots that are discolored by rust, others have the original bluing, and it shows a bit of cold blue has been used. I cleaned up some rust on the cylinder and parkerized it as it wouldn't take cold blue. The frame was so bad I painted it with ceramic paint. The plan was to rust blue the cylinder at some point, but the park kind of matches the paint and that has grown on me. At least, it's it's somewhat presentable now.

Did you get the silver or black one? I've been tempted, but have a Bersa that helps me resist that.

Gotta love the MKII! Which Marlin? I admire the 39 and the Model 60 is one of the most popular .22 rifles of all time.

Very cool that you still have your Ithaca. A long time friend still hunts with a single shot Ithaca shotgun that bears some resemblance to you rifle.

I checked a Victory out a few weeks back, probably would have bought it if the shop didn't have a nice Ruger MKII Government Target on the shelf. Great to read yours is working out.

BTW, here's a 9mm plinker...a Helwan 951... which is a licensed Egyptian clone of the Beretta Modello 1951.

I had an issue with it early on, but with that resolved, it's run fine ever since...I like it enough that I want the Beretta.

During the "great Obama .22 shortage era" this became my low cost plinker.

Greg, it's a model 60. Also have a Glenfield, which is very similar, that a friend gave me because it wouldn't eject. Fixed that and now have two great bargain plinkers. So easy to load and accurate to boot!

That's a nice pre-magnum frame Model 60...I've got to get me one of those

Excellent! My wife has a 75, part of the family. I was thinking it's a Marlin, but it's probably a Glenfield. It's locked in her safe, so that remains a mystery for know.

Wow, never ever seen a speedloader for a two-two?

Isn't Glenfield a model of Marlin? I had a Glenfield Model 60, had it for many many years. I gave it to a coworkers kid.
Great rifle, as mentioned easy to load, don't have to remember to bring your magazine and accurate.

Neighbor brought over his Glenfield/Marlin with issues. Turns out it just wasn't ejecting. Somebody apparently bent down the little wire ejector somehow. I just bent it back up a bit, after finally figuring out the issue (not as fast as Greg) and it worked perfectly. Why if my arms were long enough I'd of patted myself on the back.

With just a tiny deviation from topic, Winchester played that branding game too.
They made the pre 64 Model 70 under the Ted Williams name for Sears and Roebuck for many years.
I found one at a gun show, actually 3 at shops too, never did score one.

The one at the gunshow I'd just learned about them and I pointed out to my son and unfortunately for me the table holder.

Pointed out that it was a pre 64 model 70 made by Winchester but branded. The price was right! We wandered a bit like we usually do to discuss it. I looked back as we started away and the guy took it off the table and put it behind him in a case.

Damn Missouri honesty ruined that deal once again.

Now back to Plinkers. I love this thread.

Darn, sorry you missed out on that one. As plinkers go, I have a Sears Model 1 that is a re-branded Winchester Model 121.

I guess Walmart is our designated dept. store for some rifles now since Sears don't do it. Wish the Auto zone down the road had some along with some pistols. Way it is now I have go drive 20 miles or better to see a good selection of anything.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Want to see what will be the end of our country as we know it???

It's been a few years ago but I think it was around 300 bucks, could be off on that.

Collectors don't want them since they don't say Winchester but they are every bit as good. I kick myself to this day for not just buying it. I probably didn't have the money as usual or I would have.
