barth I hope it will be . First 1911 I have had I think I'll keep and carry !

berrettabone Trigger pull does matter with a defensive handgun as much as a target gun . Now you say theres lots of talk about triggers ?? Then get out there and spend some time with a NY trigger like a 11lb glock trigger then compared to a 5lb glock trigger and see how your groups on target look under controlled conditions. Do you think you won't shoot at least as badly under high stress when you need your carry pistol . Better yet take two handgun just alike but with very different trigger pulls to a defensive handgun match and I bet you will be thinking about that trigger pull difference . Don't know if you'll talk about it but you sure will see it in your score .

I always felt I could shoot any trigger well if only smooth with a mag full fired down range but there is a difference in accuracy between a heavy and lite trigger . I could also tell the difference hunting when I shoot a hog using the SA 2lb pull on a hog and when double action 9lb pull is need do to the close range and cocking a revolver could spook the game and a bullet is not placed as well . I know the difference . f

After hand surgery last year I no longer have as good a control over my trigger finger or the strength I had in my middle finger for solid grip control as I once did so a heavier pistol with a nice short SA pull with a crisp 4lb 7oz break trigger is a good compromise for me .

IF you can't tell the difference in group size between a 9lb and a 3lb trigger pull you might make a good trainer for NYCP and teach them folks a thang or two about hitting the target with heavy triggers .

Less than about 5 yards, the trigger isn't so important. Farther out, you can't afford to jerk the shot off target with a heavy trigger, hastily placed trigger finger, and/or inadequate grip.

Anyone who's using a pocket handgun to shoot at yardages beyond 10 yds. is a bit goofy to begin with IMHO. Why would/do you need to fool with a trigger on a pocket gun for 10 yds. and under, unless you have a disability. Common sense. Unless of course your independently wealthy, and you like to spend money. Then, by all means, try to make the trigger lighter/better. I still think your wasting your time. Especially on a firearm you won't remember shooting. The courts sometimes have a field day with triggers that are not stock. You always should keep that it mind. Would I do work on a trigger for a pocket firearm, no. For a target firearm/full size, yes. It's one reason why I carry firearms that ALL have nice triggers. Like my MK9. What on earth would I do to possibly make the trigger any better? I did do work on my wife's revolver, but that was because of wrist issues. If she wouild have not had an issue pulling the stock trigger, I wouldn't have wasted my time/money. JMHO, don't beat me up.

Because you can't predict when and where the need will arise. If we could we'd always carry a rifle.

So a pocket guns should not shoot beyond 10 yards or your goofy ?? Guess you don't know even a bug match can have targets at 12 yards and real life even longer . So your going to do what if a bad guy shooting at you at 12 yards. Ask him to please come closer !! Then take a left turn about not doing trigger jobs and something about being independently wealthy but a trigger job on target gun is OK !!?? .Then you do a trigger job on your wife revolver that could end up one day with a visit to the court and there field day with her followed by if it was not for her issues you would not have "wasted" your time and money . Then type - don't beat me up. If anything over 10 yards is goofy for a 3" barreled pocket gun like your mk9 whats to far for a 4" barrel pistol ? 15 yards maybe . To bad you never remember pulling the trigger your handguns . You might want to check your bold sugar levels .

Folks that pretend they know exactly when and how a self defense scenario will unfold always make me laugh.

Pocket guns are for 10 yds. and under. I don't shoot bug matches, so I don't care. If a bad guy is shooting at me from a distance, I am going to try and get the hell out of there. Yes, a trigger job on a range gun is good. A trigger job on a pocket rocket is useless. Yes, my wife could be taking a chance. There are always cowboys like you who would rather take a knife to a gun fight rather than take off. If I ever have to use my firearm, odds are I won't remember pulling the trigger. I'm sorry I didn't realize that you were a close encounter expert, who would remember every shot, even under duress. I bow to your superiority, and please, by all means, get all of your triggers down to around a pound and a half. Then you can walk around, a safety hazard for everyone else. I would use any pocket guns that you have, and practice with your redone triggers at 50 yds. I mean, after all, you seem to think that your accurate with a trigger job out to just about any distance with a pocket handgun. I am being nice...............................this time. My sugar levels are up a bit, thanks for your concern. Maybe I'll go do some trigger jobs on a couple of my firearms, I heard that it not only makes you more accurate, but it does seem to lower blood sugar levels.

Personally, you have so many firearms, and seem to switch them more than your underwear, I can't see how you could get used to ANY trigger. In fact, your so busy posting pictures of your everyday purchases that I don't know how you get anything done, because this isn't the only site you brag on............................................

I get used to the trigger by actually firing the gun.
Usually at least 1,000 to 1,500 rounds initially just to get proficient.
The rest of your post just sounds like sour grapes - LOL!

Not everyone can wear a full size pistol all day long. For us, there are subcompacts and mouseguns. I can easily hit COM with my Shield at 25 yards. I can even do fairly well at that distance with my CM9. Self defense isn't about precision bullseye shooting, it's about combat accuracy.
