Yeah that is good fodder for another thread. Then you will see the Libertarians here come out of the woodwork. I have to agree with Muggs' post. He makes a different point--it is a social point. The only contra point would be..... how much are you willing to tolerate justice being served on the street level? If you turn a blind eye because the guy was a drug dealer, who is next? Prostitutes? Thieves? Pedophiles?

Baltimore has had a power structure of 1. Democrat. 2. Liberal. Dominated by Blacks in positions of power. Three strikes and your OUT.

Agreed. But the man is dead and some due diligence is reasonable.

Absolutely. But the prosecutor's announcement didn't reflect due diligence, it was pure demagoguery:

“To the people of Baltimore: I heard your call for ‘no justice no peace’, I will seek justice on your behalf. This is a moment. This is your moment, ... And as young people, our time is now.”

They'll all have their day in court, as have others who were prosecuted to appease the mob. But even if acquitted it will ruin their lives anyway.
