If we're talking true devoted potheads (consumers, not growers or dealers, including those that will become heads after its legal), show me where the majority are dedicated to hard work, freedom, conservative values, and don't vote democrat or take government assistance and I'll agree to recreational use legalization.
Until then only strict regulated use for the medical extracts that don't leave the user high. No state has succeeded at that either.
All that's said to preserve bawannas and my banana from being eaten by someone else. The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Now that the Tman has expressed his acceptance of pot smoking, I better understand hid penchant for conspiracy theories. He's lost his sense of reality.

Maybe if more states legalize the stuff then all the potheads that moved here from those states will move back home!!! Pretty sure no one here will miss them. The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Good shot Muggsy.
I'm not a pot smoker. I don't much care for the effects. It caused me to feel too high to deal with things. I liked what alcohol did much better, where you have more control on how intoxicated you get. But I do believe in freedom. Since pot is a plant and doesn't require any processing or anything, I don't see the big deal about people using it. I have seen some people undergoing Chemo, that used it to relieve the side effects, and they say it worked well for them, giving them an appetite, and being able to keep food down, and generally easing the side effects of Chemo. Now as far as drugs, like meth, cocaine, heroin, those are all chemicals that need to be kept illegal, particularly meth. Have you ever went to one of those sites that show people busted for meth over a period of time, and watched how fast they degenerate? It's pretty sickening what some idiots will do to themselves. I wonder if pot was legal, if the use of the chemicals would drop. Since they could go to a dispensary and get their pot, rather than trying to find a dealer in some shady part of town, for whatever chemical they are looking for. I don't know, I suppose we could look at Colorado and see if hard drug use has dropped or rose since they legalized pot. I think pot is relatively harmless, compared to the damage alcohol does to society and to one's body. It's a lot like alcohol, where some folks wake up and take a drink or have a smoke, while others use them in moderation. I bet if I was a pothead, instead of a drinker, that my liver would be in much better shape. I used to be quite the party animal, now I am paying for it.
I don't think everyone that uses pot becomes a pothead, I look at a pothead about the same as being an alcoholic, where they stay stoned or drunk most of the time. A certain amount of people that use alcohol, become alcoholics, and a certain amount of people that smoke pot become potheads. Others are able to take a drink or have smoke here and there and not let it take control of their life. As far as pot smokers voting Democrat, they are the party that is most likely to try to get it legalized, while GOP conservatives are brainwashed that it's an evil substance, the "Devil's Weed" and all that. I saw a testimony about a woman with inoperable brain tumours, that was given less than 6 months to live. She started taking a small amount of cannabis oil every day, and 3 years later she is alive and doing fine, and her tumours have shrank. Of course that could have been a story, but I've seen many other testimonies saying much the same thing. There are more reports that it treats cancer, and other diseases, despite what the Supreme Court says. The Supreme Court is not composed of Doctors, and I'm sure they took the conservative side of the argument, and decided it had no medical uses, despite many testimonies that it did have medical uses.
Mostly to me, it's a matter of freedom to use what you decide works best for your medical condition, rather than having BIg Pharma push their expensive drugs down our throats. We've lost so much freedom over the last decades, that I'd like to see us get some of them back. The FDA is trying to gain regulation over supplements, so that you can't even try any alternative treatments that Doctors have found to be beneficial for certain conditions including Cancer, Diabetes, Arthritis, Circulatory problems, Alzheimer's Disease, Mental Disorders, Antibiotics, Gut Problems, and a host of other conditions. The Bible says that God provided a cure for all the diseases that affect mankind, we only need to find them, and some Doctors have researched different conditions and diseases and come up with many natural substances that heal the condition, instead of masking the symptoms, as most Big Pharma Drugs do. I think Antibiotics are one of the few things that actually eliminate the root cause of a problem, while most other drugs simply treat the symptoms, and once you are one them, then you are one them for life, or at least a very long time. So it's not just pot that I think should be legal, I want to see more of the natural cures developed that get to the root of the problem, and not just treat the symptoms. God forbid that the FDA ever gains control over the supplement market, or they will shut down all these supplements and force us into buying Big Pharma's expensive products. They recently took a generic drug off the market that I take for gut problems, leaving only the brand name available, the cost of which jumped from about $15 for a months supply, to over $200 dollars for a month's supply. I am looking for a natural product that works, and is affordable. It's funny that this drug contains mostly natural products combined with a couple chemical drugs, that have been around for years, but the pill I take is so expensive. They say it's because it's an older drug, and has been mostly replaced by newer drugs. But none of these newer drugs work as well as the older one I was taking for years. The problem with taking the natural substance, is it's a poison when too much is consumed, as are most pain medicines, and many other medicines for various conditions. I started researching natural cures, when a friend was diagnosed with lung cancer. She had the tumor cut out, and they put her through 6 months of chemotherapy to make sure they got everything, and I saw what that did to her, so I began researching alternative medicines, and was amazed at the things the FDA and Big Pharma sweep under the rug. If a cancer drug, looks too close to being a cure, they halt research on it, and hide the research papers, or destroy them, Cancer is BIg Pharma's cash cow, they make Billions every year from it, and they are not about to come out with a cure for it, and lose those Billions of dollars in income. Sad, but true. Greed is more important to these fat cats, than human lives. Just like wars, they'll sacrifice millions of lives, so a fairly small group will make enormous sums of money and thousands of shareholders will see smaller gains, by supplying all sides of a conflict through subsidiaries located in each country.
With a large percentage going up to the major shareholders, or owners of the various corporations. These would be the Rothschild/Banksters that aleady own 80% of the wealth of the free world. I've done a lot of research and what I found out, is there are many natural supplements that will kill cancer cells. But the FDA doesn't allow them to be sold as cancer therapy, only general health supplements, so you have to do your research to know what helps and what doesn't. I've built up a library of natural cure books, that have helped me in a number of ways. Some of the cancer supplements are increasing survival rates by over 500% even when the cancer has advanced to stage 4. The problem is that most people are going to ask their Oncologist about them, and the Oncologists are trained to automatically dismiss anything that is not in the standard treatment protocol of cut it out, poison it out with chemo, or burn it out with radiation. Funny that this has been the same protocol since the 1950's, with only newer more expensive Chemo drugs being produced. So most people listen to their Oncologist, and they never give these alternatives a try. I know if it was my life on the line, I'd be doing research and taking whatever I felt would help, no matter what the Dr. said. None of this stuff can make you worse, they come from various plants and mushrooms. Many from Japan and the far east, where although they smoke like chimneys, cancer is very rare. Ever wonder why 2 of the gifts the wise men brought to Jesus was Frankincense and Myrrh? Both have been shown lately to have potent curative qualities in them, and were used as medicines back in those times.
It's not so much what I want to indulge in smoking pot, I just think that we should have the freedom to choose to smoke it or not. I don't think pot smokers are prone to go out and commit violent crimes, like some people that get boozed up will. I think alcohol causes some people to become more violent, while pot seems to act more like a sedative, and people want to kick back and watch TV and eat snacks. I've seen this a lot in playing music. Drunks want to argue about everything, and be the star, while pot smokers tend to go with the flow, and share the spotlight, each taking a turn with a solo or whatever. I don't know what it is about alcohol that inflates people's egos, but I've seen it happen time and time again. A beer or two is fine, but much more than that, and it gets too crazy for me. I like to be sober when I play, or maybe have a beer, but the ones that over indulge, get to thinking they are really somebody, and want the spotlight, even though often their playing is sloppy, and sounds atrocious to the rest of the band, they think they are really on a roll, and don't seem to hear their mistakes, or say they were intentional, or make other excuses.
I would like to see Hemp brought back as a cash crop. It has a large variety of uses, and would save many trees. Hemp has no value as an intoxicant, it doesn't produce THC. But it's close enough to the pot plant that it got lumped in with pot as an illegal substance. Hemp Rope, is one of the best ropes you can buy, you can make paper out of it, use it to make clothes and other items. It may be illegal due to the corporations that produce the things that were formally made out of hemp.
I will offer to share my knowledge of alternative treatments with anyone interested. Just send me a PM, with whatever you are looking for help with, and I'll go through my library and search my internet sites and see what I can do to help you.

Hell I applaud those smart enough to get the fix in for themselves early. After all that is the Capitalists Way!Originally posted by b4uqzme View PostVote NO on Issue 3 this November!
Issue 3 is not about legalizing pot nor is it about "compassionate care for sick Ohioans". It is about creating an oligopoly where a select few privileged people get to rape the marijuana market in Ohio. I'd rather it stay illegal...at least it's a free market.

+1 ^^^^ Corner the market, it's the American way.....
I will admit to smoking pot in my youth, I was a child of the late 60's early 70's and everybody I knew and hung with toked up a little....I haven't used it since 1975 and don't miss it and really wish I had never done it but that's water under the bridge now BUT
Earlier this year as we watched my 29 year old nephew slowly dying from terminal lung cancer (kid never smoked anything in his life).....Jeremy was on his 3rd and final round of the most powerful chemo they have called "The Red Devil" because it's red in color and makes you so sick you want to die.....Jeremy was on all kinds of prescription drugs to help with his constant nausea and vomiting but they weren't working and if anything they were making it worse...
Jeremy's older brother was able to bring him some marijuana to see if it would help....Jeremy had a hard time smoking it at first because he had never smoked anything before but after a while he did and said it was a miracle and it made the nausea completely go away and he even wanted to eat again so maybe there is a reason to look into the medicinal qualities of this stuff because in his last few weeks it made the dying part a little easier for the boy...." As I've stated Getsome, I'm not opposed to medical marijuana prescribed by a doctor. I am opposed to the recreational use of pot. I don't want the school bus driver to think that it ok to smoke pot and drive a school bus. I don't want anyone in my employ to smoke pot and then come to work. The pot of today is far more potent than the pot of the 60's and 70's. Contrary to what some people think pot isn't less harmful than alcohol. Both cause permanent brain damage. The more and the longer you smoke or drink the more damage is done. It is particularly more harmful to juveniles whose brains aren't fully developed.

Tman,
If you believe in the right to choose then you must believe in abortion on demand and the killing of the unborn. If you believe in the right to choose then why not make all drugs legal and sell them over the counter at drug stores. Morphine, heroin and cocaine produce a far better high. You are paying for lost time from work and to support the families of others, because some believe that they have the right to choose to use illegal drugs. If you are ok with those things you aren't someone that I care to know. That kind of thinking is what is bringing this country down. With freedom comes responsibility.Last edited by muggsy; 10-16-2015, 07:12 AM.Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

Agreed. The THC content in todays custom grown plants is anywhere from 200 to 5000 time more powerful than the grapevine quality weed of the 60's and 70's. Kind like comparing a flickering candle to a flame thrower.Originally posted by muggsy View PostAs I've stated Getsome, I'm not opposed to medical marijuana prescribed by a doctor.
