Trump doesn't have to spend a lot of money. The media gives him more attention than any other candidate in a demeaning way that only helps him rise in the polls. The people are feed up with the media and politicians, and they have hope in Trump.

Interesting you think any Fiorina people will go to Trump. Why?

I would vote for the candidate who asks Congress to pass a declaration of war against the Islamic State. How hard is that? Why hasn't it been done?

If ISIS is some kind of tool the "shadow government" is using against us, there's your answer. Keep terrorism a constant threat, keep the economy hobbling along, keep health insurance as an open wound, keep gun control a constant threat, keep increasing the debt and the deficit, keep shoving the global warming scam down our throats, never solve a single problem. Keep the people focused on the swarm of gnats in front of their face so they don't notice the cliff they're about to plunge off of.

Then I would have a tough decision to make. Years ago it would be a no brainier to stick GOP. Last few years even the GOP hardliners going in seem to disappear in the masses. If they carried the momentum to move the GOP voters and not loose the election to a split I'd say yes. I cannot see Cruz doing that anyway. I really think it's time for a GOP national policy convention to iron out what we stand for and build a iron platform. Nowdays they just fire their leader and do the same mish-mash of give and take. It's time to "Tear Down That Wall!' and grow a backbone. I thought the Tea Party would do that but no luck. One or two cannot move the direction anymore than throwing themselves in front of a runaway bus. Trump has "said" a lot of things that would make a real difference if he could make them happen. The only thing I really have confidence in him is that he will press the limits of his authority in the office. No political BS and willing to exercise the pen like none before. That's what has the left scared and the people excited. I'm one of them but not sure I want a 1000 horsepower go kart without a steering wheel like a Cruz might bring.

Thinking about it we have had more party members on both side move to independent as their party leaves them. Ronald Reagan said he didn't leave the Democratic Party, it left him. That's what I see happening now as both sides seem to rush toward a cliff.

                  Trump is Right.

Independent Trump guarantees Clinton. In fact that (Ross Perot as independent) is how we wound up with the first Clinton who was much worse than folks remember. And she's worse than he ever was.

Absolutely agreed. And Trump knows that.
... and more significantly, so does the Republican establishment.

Trump dominance in the primaries will force them to hold their noses and put him on the Republican ticket to ensure that Hillary does not get elected.

Sigh..... Watched the debate. Gotta say seeing Trump for a couple hours turned my stomach. Can't say I want him to get the nomination any longer. I can picture him shooting spitwads at the camera during speeches which would rattle on for 3-4 hours like Fidel used to do, not saying anything other than how great he is. I still like Cruz but wished for a different dialog than I saw between him and Rubio. Had to agree with the NJ guy who said that is what goes on congress arguing over how many angels fit on the head of a pen instead of getting things done. Is it too late to flush them all and start over?

My only real concern with Cruz is that he's a Senator. Bad.

                          Trump for President 2016. Ideally, Trump/Cruz 2016.

My sense is Fiorina peeps passionately dislike Trump; they think he's an oaf.

Watching the debate reinforced my feeling that Rubio, even more than Cruz, knows WTF he's talking about, and would skewer Hillary. He left marks on Cruz on the Gadhafi exchange. He also got attacked more often than either Cruz or Trump so I think that's who everyone really fears. Dunno if he's got the ground game to make it out of primary season though.

One thing that I learned after the last election is to never underestimate the stupidity of the average voter. If four years of Obama taught them nothing then eight years of Obama has little chance of changing their minds. Liberals will vote for anyone with a D after their name. The only way for the republicans to win is to unite behind one candidate. All of us need to vote for the most level headed conservative candidate that has a chance of winning. I don't see Trump as presidential material. I see him as a loose cannon. Cruz is my choice for president. He has the education, maturity and experience to run the country.

I'm fine with Cruz, no objection at all. But if it happens to be Trump, we'd damn well better support him.
