In Memory of Paul "Dietrich" Stines.
Dad: Say something nice to your cousin Shirley
Dietrich: For a fat girl you sure don't sweat much.
Cue sound of Head slap.

Ooh. Chilling story. Ya know there could be some real truth in this one. I won't be around to see it but my son just bought a house in NJ and I looked up their gun laws. Wanted to puke. They even have a law preventing use of hollow points outside your home or a range. What a crock. He's hoping to eventually move out west but for now, it's put up with ridiculous laws.Originally posted by dkmatthews View Post

I just think at somepoint the bill of rights is going to become irrevelant as we slide into Socialism, or Martial Law is declared. A totally stuipid idea. Look at all the guns we sent to England in WWII so they could have a home guard.
That Sundown at Shadow Rock was a very good read, and made me think some more.
There are just too many anti gunners out there, and more all the time. Everytime we have a shooting like the one that's been so popular on the board for awhile gets people to thinking we'd be better off without guns. I doubt I'll see the day it happens, but I fear my son will see the day. They will continue as they have been, a little chunk here, a little compromise there, and before you know it they will outlaw them all. One vote on the SCOTUS decided that the 2nd admendment was an individual right, I doubt if we will always have the majority, and too many poeple think the Constitution is a living and breathing document that needs updating with the times.Tom

They'll be trying to take that from us too.Originally posted by Bawanna View PostIn spite of the tragic accident I guess I still have my religion to cling too.“I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials.”

All I know is the states have been passing bills and having them signed into law which are giving back the 2nd amendment little by little.
Wasn't that long ago that most states were may issue and only one state was a constitutional carry state. Now nearly all the states are shall issue three are considered constitutional carry with more states having constitutional carry bills going thru their legislature. Currently only one state has no provision for carry. Most of this has come about since my son was born in 1987 which is somewhat ironic since 1986 saw an update to the NFA whereby only those full auto firearms built and registered pre some date in 1986 are legal for "normal" citizens to own.
I need to check what happened in my state this session as there was a bill going around to allow silencers for hunting.

This is true. It seems like the more the feds push anit-gun, the more the states have pushed back with loosening ownership/carry rights. It's hard for the feds to argue when statistics show gun sales are at an all-time high, and violence is dropping yearly.Originally posted by tv_racin_fan View PostAll I know is the states have been passing bills and having them signed into law which are giving back the 2nd amendment little by little.

Yesterday, Glenn Beck started off his show talking about shootings at colleges, ranting about how their is a direct correlation between college education and violence... something has to be done. College students or graduates turn into killers (Dahmer, Zimmerman, this guy at Christian college, etc). Maybe colleges need to be closed down. Meanwhile, emails started pouring in saying, "Glenn, do you know how many millions of college educated people there are for every one that goes off the edge?" He said, "EXACTLY!" and bridged straight into there being MILLIONS of gun owners for every one that commits a violent crime, yet libs want to ban guns for everyone because the misuse of one or a few loons.
Perfect setup.“I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials.”

In other news, the same day firearms were outlawed, there was a 10,000% increase in watercraft collisions. Luckily, no persons were injured.”Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.”
