It's another month until the next gun show here... if there will be one. Obummer could be issuing a royal proclamation against them as I type here. I wouldn't put anything past him, and his do nothing party-members will fall into step behind him, even though he's just using their party... he's far from yore deddy's Demmycrat.

It's starting here. Send you children to your rooms, turn off the TV. Crack the Scotch bottle open. Been a hell of a lousy day, I'm gonna take advantage of the nothing on tv and shower up, take the scotch to my man cave and meditate.

You can't find anything out there now, ammo or reloading supplies.Last year I probably shot around 8000 rounds, not this year.It all a political scam. They say take the gun off the market and it will be a safer place, not so, if the man said we will enforce the laws that do exist no one would have a problem with that, but nooo we have to have new laws on top of the laws they don't enforce now.People are afraid, by the the time 911 is called at 2 AM and they get there is done and over with.We need to protect ourself's during the time when we need it the most. What I would like to say is I practice that makes me good at what I do, without having the ammo I can't be as accurate this takes away from my skills.Hey guys it's going to be a long ride thru this whole mess. The anti gunners are coming thru the woodwork, and they don't even realize what is at stake. We here all are law biding citizens and we are not the bad ones in this crazy world

              "Come and take it"

I had to look it up. I can't remember anything anymore. My brain has been sucked out by working for morons.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

For the Kenneth W. Royce book, see Molon Labe!.

The words ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ as they are inscribed on the marble of the 1955 Leonidas Monument at Thermopylae.

The phrase molon labe (Ancient Greek μολὼν λαβέ molṑn labé; reconstructed Ancient Greek pronunciation [molɔːn labé]; Modern Greek pronunciation [moˈlon laˈve]) means "Come and take". It is a classical expression of defiance reportedly spoken by King Leonidas I in response to the Persian army's demand that the Spartans surrender their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae. It is an exemplary use of a laconic phrase.
                Contents

The phrase was reportedly the defiant response of King Leonidas I of Sparta to Xerxes I of Persia when asked to lay down their arms and surrender, at the onset of the Battle of Thermopylae (480 BC).
Instead, the Spartans held Thermopylae for three days and, although they were ultimately annihilated, they inflicted serious damage upon the Persian army, and most importantly delayed its progress to Athens, providing sufficient time for the city's evacuation to the island of Salamis. Though a clear defeat, Thermopylae served as a moral victory and inspired the troops at the Battle of Salamis and the Battle of Plataea.
The source for this quotation is Plutarch, Apophthegmata Laconica, 51.11.[5] This work by Plutarch is included among the Moralia, a collection of works attributed to him but outside the collection of his most famous works, the Parallel Lives.
                Modern usage

Molon labe has been repeated by many later generals and politicians in order to express an army's or nation's determination not to surrender. The motto ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ is on the emblem of the Greek First Army Corps,[6] and is also the motto of United States Special Operations Command Central (SOCCENT).[7] The expression "Come and take it" was a slogan in the Texas Revolution.
Molon labe has been used once again in Greek history, on 3 March 1957 during a battle in Cyprus between members of the EOKA organization, and the British Army. After someone had betrayed his location, the British forces surrounded the secret hideout of the second-in-command of EOKA, Grigoris Afxentiou, near the Machairas Monastery. Inside the hideout were Afxentiou and four of his followers. Realizing he was outnumbered, Afxentiou ordered them to surrender themselves whilst he barricaded himself for a fight to the death. The British asked Afxentiou to come out and surrender. He replied with the phrase Molon labe, imitating the ancient Spartans. Unable to get him out, and after sustaining casualties, the British set fire to the hideout, and he was burnt alive. The British buried his body in the yard of the central jail at Lefkosia, where it lies today.
In America, both the original Greek phrase and its English translation are often heard from pro-Second Amendment activists as a defense of the right to keep and bear arms. It began to appear on web sites in the late 1990s and early 2000s.[8] And when the government of New Orleans defied Federal court orders to return weapons that had been seized during Hurricane Katrina,[9] the phrase again gained popularity among supporters of the Second Amendment, as the phrase has connotation of a strong belief in the ideals of personal freedom and in the individual right to self-protection.[citation needed] In the Second Amendment or firearms freedom context, the phrase expresses the notion that the person uttering the phrase is a strong believer in these ideals and will not surrender their firearms to anyone, including governmental authority, without strong resistance.[10]
Molon labe has been recently used in the 2007 feature film 300 in which Leonidas speaks this famous line in English in response to "Spartans! Lay down your weapons!" as "Persians! Come and get them!" In the 1999 comic book of the same name, upon which the film is based, the phrase becomes "Come and get it", with no exchange concerning the laying down of arms.[11] In the earlier 1962 film The 300 Spartans Leonidas says the phrase both in Greek and English to the Persian general Hydarnes.

Routine shooters like here and on most gunboards cycle their ammo. Meaning you have a stockpile that as you shoot you replace what is shot to keep your stockpile up to date and refreshed.

Hoarders are the johnny come latelys that got in late, bought up everything, and drove prices up and availability down.
I was going to say something like this but LZ beat me to it, so I'll just throw a personal spin on it:

Throughout the last year, when ammo was in plentiful supply, I bought enough of it to make a liberal news reporter drool while thinking up a headline. I bought it steadily over the months, the suppliers were happy to sell it and had lots more available. I built up my own personal supply.

Now, there is a "shortage" because demand is up, and I have a supply of stuff that a lot of other people suddenly are wanting and cannot get - or are paying exorbitant prices for.

I find myself taking offense at the term "hoarder" because of the negative connotation, but the dictionary definition does seem to apply. However, the people yelling "foul" are the very ones who did not set aside the money and build up their own supply.

Note: At this point, ammo is a "want" item, NOT a "need" item like food, water, gasoline, oxygen, etc. Therefore the most nasty negative popular usage of the word hoarder does not apply here. I'm talking about the usage where the media describes people that fill their pickup truck bed with 5 gallon cans of gas during an emergency and then turn around and try to sell it for $50/gallon to people who need to get to work.

If everyone that is now yelling about hoarders had bought at the same rate that I did, or even more slowly than I did but still steadily purchased ammo, then the manufacturers would have ramped up their production, the stores would still have the stuff, the economy would be improved, and the only people crying to mommy would be the anti-gun folks.

VERY well said. I too told people, buy 2 boxes every month, shoot 1, put the other back. Started doing that with all the calibers I own, for the past 5 years. I'm in good shape. Those that didn't listen.. are crying. BOO HOO !

I evaluated my inventory and use well before the election and bought what I wanted. After the election I bought some more. My last order(from 14 Jan) arrived this last Monday and I think I have enough for my needs... and even some friends in the neighborhood if things look bad and they need ammo. I still shoot and try to use as much of the range's ammo as possible. Monday the limit was only one box and I shot 257 rounds total, but I was breaking in a new pistol and had a bunch of different kinds of ammo to test in it, including a couple of mags through my P40 with the 180-gr Bonded Remington Golden Sabers. Everything worked fine and I was pleased that the P40 got through two mags and didn't look bad in front of the new G23C and it's 257 flawless rounds!

The Glock is little too big for carry IWB wearing my shorts, though. The P40 will remain my EDC!

I don't think 'hoarder' was used here in the context of the Webster's definition.

One person's definition of hoarding is another person's definition of a month at the range. You can't put a definition on it, therefore you can't really complain about it (legitimately). Unless you are buying on the way to the range and only keep SD rounds at home in a quantity for an intruder situation (so 1 or 2 boxes), then you are a 'hoarder' by someone's definition.

I think the "Smart Carry" thing is an oxymoron! I only have room for me in my shorts... in the front, anyhow.

I do have a lot more room since I lost 30 pounds or so!
