NOOOOOO! The saga continues. MK9 going back again

Well, my MK9 is going back to the factory again. My MK9 with the new replacement frame has an issue. The last round ejects very anemically and sometimes gets caught up, like jammed into the mag feed lips, and requires a tug on the mag to get it released. Once again, this is only the LAST round of the mag. I am so frustrated. I contacted Kahr about it yesterday and said, send me new mags, a new extrator, whatever and I'll do it myself to which they said no I'd have to send it in to them. I'm still waiting for my shipping label to hit my e-mail but I'll try calling them again this afternoon if I still haven't received it. I'm not happy.

Here's a pic of my mags, they have different followers. The one on the left (old follower) is where the cases get caught sometimes and you can see the scratch marks on the follower from the jams. The one on the right is the newer follower I guess but it ejects just barely, sometimes just laying in the ejection port and sometimes does not lock the slide back. Miserable:

I'm starting to lose my patience. I've just not really had so many problems with a single gun before, let alone one that costs this much. Ridiculous. Crap happens so I'm giving them one more shot before I take the loss and ask for a refund and hopefully make some of my money back on the extras I've bought (grips, sights, holsters, etc).

This is especially troublesome especially being an MK which we rarely hear of issues with.

You need to hang onto the patience and let them get it right. They will or failing that they will replace it.

I'd send the gun and both of those magazines so they have exactly what you have to work with. I think we're dealing with something pretty simple this time, a bum extractor or something in that chain, maybe a spring.

Not good but it happens.

Thank you for the reassurance. I already boxed up the gun with both mags, per their request. I had to call them to get the shipping label, but after my call it was in my e-mail. It will be mailed this evening. Wish me luck.

I really hope they don't have to replace the pistol because I'll get charged another transfer fee. That will really add insult to injury.

Yes bosco. Not good. Really not good. My confidence is really really shook at this point. I don't really know what to do. I mean even if they send it back "supposedly" fixed. Is it going to break again in a hundred rounds or so? Maybe I should just sell or trade it or use it as a tuck away trunk gun somewhere. Not sure yet. I'm just super bummed.

Good news, it was delivered to the factory this AM so at least it's in their hands now.

I've had several issues (including the one discussed in this thread) with my CW45 since I've owned it. Most were in it's infancy with me. Later, I found that it had short front rails that, even though the gun was reliable, required replacing the frame to make it right. Still later, I found live rounds with XTP shaped bullets could be very difficult to eject (I just avoided that ammo until I was able to cut more freebore into the barrel).

Still, I'm fond of the gun and, though I've needed to vet it after some fixes, I trust it and use it as my primary carry. I don't agonize over if it will fail again or not. Which brings me to this, if you can't get to that point again with your MK9, I'd say once Kahr says it's good to go you can sell or trade it in good faith and should probably do so.

I understand your frustration...and I would probably look at things exactly the same way.

There is something to be said for boringly predictable and reliable pistols. Case in point: I have a fairly new Remington RM380. Happily digests anything you feed it, not a single malfunction since purchase, runs dirty, dry, whatever. It's become a staple in my carry rotation. I joined the Remington forum, and the sub-section for that pistol is eerily quiet. Someone will post a review of the pistol when one pops up in a periodical, but other than that...crickets. Again, boringly predictable.

My MK9 (knock on wood, perfect so far) is amongst my favorite guns EVER. But I'm not sure I would keep it if I had the issues you're experiencing.

I guess I've just been very lucky with many of my purchases. I only ever had an issue like this once and it was with a Glock 19 Gen 4 when they were first introduced. At that time Glock went through like 3 different recoil spring assemblies and a different ejector the Gen4s before they got it right (mine only went back to the factory once). It came back and worked, but I just couldn't trust it and ended up getting another Gen3 which has been my go to and have over 8k rounds through it. Great gun. I guess I just don't like risk related to a specific firearm. We'll see. If I get it back and it runs like a top, I'm sure I'll just laugh it off. If it has even one hiccup I'll freaking spaz!!!! hahaha.

Understand completely. And I feel exactly the same about my guns...I own them for a purpose. I'm not a collector or a range hobbyist (although there's nothing wrong with either). I own/carry them for the purpose of self-defense, and--as such--anything less than dead-solid predictable is just not acceptable.

I'm actually a little nervous, because next week my PM9 goes back to the range for the last of its break-in period. I had a couple of FTF in the first 100 or so rounds (which I expected), and then the next 100 were flawless. My next range trip, I'm looking for another 100 rounds trouble-free, and at that point it's a keeper and goes into my carry rotation. But if malfunctions continue to pop up, I'll have a hard time convincing myself to hold on to it.
