    bosco,
If I remember I'll take some pictures, but the barrel is more radiused and smooth on the edges around the barrel hood, which is a nice touch. The finish is great on it and it cycles smooth. I think they may have put time and attention into this replacement which is exciting. The new mag came with the updated follower. I look forward to hitting the range and testing all 3 mags for reliable function.

I'm wondering why this wasn't done in the first place?

That's awesome news, Genin. You just have to think of it as an MK Custom.

exactly, I should just be able to have fun with it and not worry.

Yes, although I rarely use my MK9 and my K9, I expect flawless operation for about 500 rounds before I will with satisfaction relegate them to the safe. The K9 has about 500 flawless rounds and the MK has about 1000 flawless rounds. I am very satisifed with them as I ocassionally take them out of the safe, and dry fire them and drool over them.

I think my MK9 will also be in the safe and come out to play and shoot once in a while. My Glock43 has really taken over the carry role. I just trust it more. Just for fun here's some pics I took of the rounding of the trigger guard I did on my G43 (looked much better on the small frame plus makes it easier to holster in my N82 holster):

I guess it's just me, but I see no reason to keep any Kahr in the safe. I would relegate that to more expensive firearms, or firearms that I cherished. Kahr's are meant to be used. Not that you can't cherish a Kahr, it's just that there are so many firearms I would rather keep in a safe. FYI, I shoot everything I own and often.

                                beretta,
I completely agree in not having safe queens. The MK9 will be shot, but given my very rocky track record with this particular pistol it will be put only in rotation for range fun at this point. It will need to have at least 1k rounds through it before I will trust this particular firearm for anything more than recreation and a good time. Presently, I am just damn happy that it works great and looks awesome.
