I've never had a problem with any of my pistols throwing brass directly into my face including my Gen 3 Glock 26. I've heard numerous stories of new Gen 4 glocks doing it. IMO Glock has gone downhill in the last couple years. While many other brands have progressed. I think S/A with there XD line and S&W with there M&P line of pistols is about to or already has knocked Glock off there perch. I'm starting to see more LEO's using other brands as of late.Originally posted by eltee View PostHow does one generally correct a kahr that drops brass back in the face? My MK40, never ever, not even during breakin.
Actually that's never happend to me with 5000+ rounds in any of my autos.
Sig Sauer P220/45 and P239/357? You've go to be kidding.
And although Glocks are becoming notorious for it.
My Glock Gen 3 G27 is approching 4000 rounds in 9mm, 357 Sig and 40.
And only once was I maybe hit directly with brass.
Glocks new Gen 4s may, or may, not perform out of the box.
I personally wouldn't buy a Gen 4. Not now anyway.
There does seem to be a very real shift to S&W, XD and Walther.

It may stop without you doing anything as the extractor polishes through wear and the extractor spring gets a little looser.Originally posted by eltee View PostHow does one generally correct a kahr that drops brass back in the face? One of my .40's does it sometimes.
If you absolutely have to do something about it yourself and plan on completely stripping your slide, despite Kahr's recommendation that you not. It is possible to shorten the "Extractor Pin Back" in the extractor spring stack to reduce extractor tension. High extractor spring tension is frequently the cause of head bopping on other platforms like 1911's. It may be the culprit here too.

The pins are only $1.10 from Karh as spare parts at this link.
Disclaimer: I only took about 5 thousandths of an inch off mine. It seemed to help make feeding smoother. I did not have a head bopping issue before or after filing a little off the pin.
If you buy a spare before tearing into your slide (I did) then you won't have to worry if you take off too much or it turns out to make the problem worse.
It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

It works better to wear the bill forward as low as possible, so you're covered completely with eye AND head protection. I learned that after my first trip to the range with my PM45 "Boomer". The love taps weren't too bad, but I didn't look in a mirror and went shopping at Wal-Mart for half an hour. I didn't see that my forehead was covered with black marks until I got home. I just wondered what everyone thought.
After all the trips back to the factory and becoming "Franken-Boomer" the love taps went away... pretty much. I don't think there are any original parts left on the PM45.

Sometimes they bounce off the overhead target cabling or anything else around you.

Absolutely.
Now that happens to me for sure.
My G27, with 9mm, seems to have the perfect ejection angle to
hit the wall and come back at me - LOL!
Not in the face though.
In 357 it rains in the adjacent booths.
So that's what I shoot in it.
Keeps the riff raff away.
