Also, DOVE SEASON OPENS (in Texas, anyway) :59:

Just a reminder.... it will be September at 00hr UT on this coming Saturday
Thanks for reminding me Mr. Surveyor Looks like I'll be out of Texas AGAIN for the opener as I'll be on my way to Singapore on the 31st.

There's been a flock of about 25 really fat white wings hanging out in my back yard since I got back from Saudi. Taunting me with their cooing.

    • I just need a place to go. I have the time now, I have enough money and shot to get appropriate tags, I have nowhere to to hunt. I'm working on it.

      • "The republican is the only form of government which is not eternally at open or secret war with the rights of mankind." --Thomas Jefferson, Letter to William Hunter, 1790

"[A] wise and frugal government ... shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government." --Thomas Jefferson

Hmm. These wise quotes from our esteemed founding father sound like what I am hearing at the Republican convention this week. Just sayin'. All that needs to be said.
        Very interesting...

          • Wyoming is good that way too. We called it the witching hour. All the animals seem to want to jump into the street at dusk.

Even police cars and all the tractor trucks have cow catchers on the front.

            • You could carry a tarp or two and fill up the bed of the pickup.

Dang! Brainstorm! Frontloader attachment for the pickup... flip each "accident" into the bed and cover it up!!

              • No problem with the pickup vs animal deal, Obama's got that all worked out...Paper says the O administration has mandated new fuel economy rules to force the auto makers to have a CAFE average of 54.5 mpg by 2025....He says it will save american drivers 1.7 trillion a year or $8000.00 per driver as well as working to eliminate greenhouse gasses....

The auto manufacturers are scratching their collective heads wondering just how they can make a 1 ton pickup get 45 mpg with available technology... Obama says they will have to develop it or else and Obama will take all the credit for solving the problem...

Yes it will force auto makers to invest in magic new technology to meet the mandated CAFE standards but the problem is the cars will be so expensive that nobody can afford to buy one so Americans will no longer be forced to buy gasoline and the environment will be much cleaner so problem solved....BUT now the auto makers will go into bankruptsy and lay off all their workers and Obama will save the day and bail them out with taxpayer money that doesn't exist so they don't go broke....Wait a minute, didn't we just do this???...Obama math doesn't figure and the man doesn't have a clue and if we don't get him out of office in November I don't see America making it to 2016 much less 2025!!!....

                  • I'm done with my big 18 month 12 hour day no weekend and holiday project!
                    Everything went well.
                    Monster success.
Now I'm working 8 hour days and taking every Friday off for the next six months!!!

                    WOO HOO!!!

Went ahead and bought myself a fine German handgun for my troubles.
Heckler and Koch P30 40 LEM.
Those kooky Germans are something else.
This gun has a polymer donut on the guide rode that turns the
RSA into a shock absorber. It has two hammers also.
One stays cocked and the other is a super light DOA.
                    It's like a 4.4 lbs pull every-time.
And it has three sizes of removable side and rear grip panels to customize the grip!
The guide rod isn't just a rod. It has a hook on it and has a very specific fit.

I've already went shooting three times with her.
And will head back Friday for some more fun and games.

                          I don't know what a HiPoint is.
Is that like Jennings, Bersa or KelTec?

                          Fortunately looks can be deceiving.
Her ergonomics make most every other gun I've held pale in comparison.

I actually think the Walther PPQ is nearly identical.
I don't know who copied from the other.
But this looks like more than a coincidence to me.

I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
                              "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
