Those old M&Ps were outstanding service pistols.Originally posted by Pointblank View PostWhen I was about 18 or so, my dad hooked me up with a plain-Jane S&W Model 10 with a 6" barrel. I wish I still had it.Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

First handgun that was all mine was a beautiful blued Smith & Wesson model 17 K22 Masterpiece my Grandmother bought me for my 16th birthday in 1973....That one was a real beaut and I got prety good at shooting that thing with my then young eyes....Loved that revolver but it was stolen along with a real nice Winchester lever action .22 mag rifle when my first apartment was burglarized....I will probably never get over losing those firearms and the early introduction to what thieves are like...I still have dreams of catching up to that a-hole and getting my guns back again..." I graduated in 73 but sucked at math, I figured we might be twins separated at birth but 16 is a sophomore. I was old for my class so I was one of the first with a driver license.Originally posted by getsome View PostI am a proud gragiate of Cross Keys High School & Correctional Facility in 1975

I was mighty popular until everyone figured out I was such a dweeb. An ornery dweeb but a dweeb none the less.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

I was a dweeb too...I think I held the patent but I did have a cool car. 70 Chevelle SS so that made me a cool dweeb....I used to drive to school with my K22 Smith stuck between the seat and the console and had an Iver Johnson 12 gauge in the trunk....Me and my best friend and partner in crime both bought the same shotguns from Woolco when we were 14, no questions asked and we rode home from the store on our banana seat stingray bikes with the shotguns over the handle bars and all the ammo we could carry in another paper bag....
Boy were times different back then or what!!!" An armed society is a polite society".... Robert A. Heinlein

Ahhh...the good ol days! Half the vehicles in the parking lot at my high school had hunting rifles or shotguns in them and everybody carried a pocket knife. I've carried a pocket knife since the first grade. Back then that was normal and you never heard about anybody having hissy fits over it. (not sure if hissy fits is one word or two)Originally posted by getsome View PostI was a dweeb too...I think I held the patent but I did have a cool car. 70 Chevelle SS so that made me a cool dweeb....I used to drive to school with my K22 Smith stuck between the seat and the console and had an Iver Johnson 12 gauge in the trunk....Me and my best friend and partner in crime both bought the same shotguns from Woolco when we were 14, no questions asked and we rode home from the store on our bananna seat stingray bikes with the shotguns over the handle bars and all the ammo we could carry in another paper bag....

Beautiful. One of the few revolvers I've ever really enjoyed.Originally posted by getsome View PostFirst handgun that was all mine was a beautiful blued Smith & Wesson model 17 K22 Masterpiece my Grandmother bought me for my 16th birthday in 1973....That one was a real beaut and I got prety good at shooting that thing with my then young eyes....Loved that revolver but it was stolen along with a real nice Winchester lever action .22 mag rifle when my first apartment was burglarized....I will probably never get over losing those firearms and the early introduction to what thieves are like...I still have dreams of catching up to that a-hole and getting my guns back again...
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

Sterling Arms 22 semi-auto. It was a gift from my father in law and I traded it (+ cash) a few years ago for a henry 22lr lever gun. Later, traded the Henry (which was excellent by the way) for my Kahr CW9.
I still have my first gun, a Stevens 22lr bolt action. Worth $75, won't let go of it for $750...
Well... might think about it.

.38 caliber Smith & Wesson model 15, (Combat Masterpiece) with 4" barrel and target grips. Bought it new back in 1963 for $87 as a home defense gun and have fired thousands of rounds through it. It resides in my nightstand when not being used. It still amazes me how nice these old Smiths were finished in those days. I've accumulated many more handguns since then and have yet to sell one.Life member - NRA
