    It's strange too.
Kahr owned Magnum Research and Auto-Ordnance both make 1911s.
You'd think the companies could collaborate and produce a righteous Kahr trigger, commander sized, bobtailed K45.
Maybe you can orchestrate a limited run group buy

What a way to kick off 2018
Barth, I have 3 Magnum Research 1911's and I'm telling you, if you don't you should get you one. That Bobtail is sweet, I love mine immensely but them MRI's are sweet shooters, my first one a full size is probably the most accurate 1911 I own. The last one also full size but stainless (you gotta love stainless) should be every bit as good but sadly I ain't tried it out yet, much to my shame. Soon, very soon. At least it's not showing any wear from me fondling it on almost a daily basis.

With the exception of maybe the T or CT size these are primarily full fledged defensive pistols. Look how many guys are relying on 380's which is next to being unarmed in my book.

Most of us will never have to shoot but we're all sheep dogs so we need and WANT the tool. Most prefer smallest lightest possible tool, hence the love for the 380 I guess.

Granted Kahr is probably a niche market but with Thompson, Magnum Research and who am I forgetting under the same umbrella they are in the game.

Not to say it's a bad idea really but I think perfecting the current stable is priority and they are gaining on it. Remember years ago there were lots more issues.

Throw an extra mag in your pocket and you got 5 or 6 or more rounds. I always carry an extra anyhow so no issue there.

Or carry a 45. Cause shooting twice is just silly.
45'S are real guns ya know....funny not feeling much like a Sheep Dog these days eaten my scraps.....

I'm in for a right handed one (although I can shoot with both hands - LOL!)
Also add night sights if that's an option

Thanks in advance - I'm very excited about this!!!

Naturally, I'm expecting some Bawanna Special Custom Grips
            Maybe something in bone/stag?
I'll leave that up to you...

I must agree with the earlier post --- Kahrs fulfill a market niche --- slim excellent carry guns.

Don't acquire other half @@@ labels/guns; spend money on advertisements in the big gun rags to let more shooters know about their excellent products. Getting some pretty girls in the ads (I'll always read those!) would help.

Did y'all notice that Kahr received very favorable stories in the last two American Rifleman mags? Can't beat that kind of press.

Do what you do best; advertise to let everyone know; don't try to be all things to all people.

Colt tried a DAO 1911 and everyone laughed at it. The Para Ordinance version wasn’t a big hit either.

I have 3 Para Ordnance LDA 1911's and while I agree I don't think they became a big hit, I love them. I got them due to a misguided fear of the hammer back carry many years ago. I've realized the truth since then that they are safer action than so called safe action Blocks and now carry single actions but I won't part with my Para's.

The Colt deserved to be laughed at. I didn't care for those at all. Dismal failure in my book.

Barth, I personally prefer the SA triggers of my 1911's to the Kahr's DA. However, I will continue to carry my CM45 most of the time because I like the idea of lots of fire power in a very small package.

I never handled the Colt DA. What was wrong with it that isn’t also wrong with a Kahr?

                              DAO 1911 is an oxymoron

Ok, aside from the blasphemy to JMB and tradition... Sig offers the same gun with different trigger types, but no one bashes them for it. Ruger does the same with the LC9 (or did, anyway). Ruger also offered some of the P- series with three trigger types - DA/SA with safety, DA/SA decocker only, and DAO.

We keep lusting for an all metal .45ACP with a DAO type of trigger. Colt did it but, what? Is it like Communism, it works but just hasn't been tried by the right people?
