  • Out with the old and in with the new

I traded my old Model 37 in on a used M&P 340 CT. A lady bought it new at my range, fired 3 shots, and then traded it in on an M&P 9mm. It has the internal lock, but I think I'm going to disable or remove it. It also has an XS tritium sight. I love that sight picture.

Those are nice. I have a 442 air weight 38. How bad is the recoil with .357?

I haven't tried it with .357 and doubt that I will. +P Gold Dots are good enough for me.

I bet it wouldn't be fun to shoot the .357's.

          You KNOW that would hurt.

Is that going to be your new every day carry gun? Mine doesn't get much carry time since I got my pm9. I love that little pistol!

For .357 out of a 340, you fire, run back 10-15 paces, catch the gun that flew out of your hands, fire again. Keeps you a safe distance from the attacker...

It ain't fun...if you've experienced +P+ out of your PM series, it's worse!

Yes, that's the plan at the moment. I really want to carry my G26 at 1 or 3 o'clock but it prints too much. So, I figured out that I can carry it in a belly band with the grip just about in my arm pit. It's not fast drawing it from that position, so I need something really easy to conceal at my waist. That's why I bought the 340. I was carrying the Model 36 or my Sig P938 but got tired of a hammer poking me in the belly all the time.

Well I bet you will be very pleased with your new 340. It should be much easier to conceal. I would think anyway

I've put a XS Big Dot on the nose of my S&W 342 ti and 640-1 Centennial.
IMHO - the flash sight picture with them on a snubbie is outstanding.

Both my snubbies have the triggers tuned
And I bought real stainless steel triggers for both.
Had a gunsmith polish and smooth off the serrations into double action combat triggers.

                    Enjoy your new snubbie!

Net gain on this transaction - zero! Looks good though. No exposed hammer, no digging into the belly (you said it not me!)

Aw, come on, just shoot one 357.

Sounds like you may have done that and regretted it.
