Actually the 10-22 is stone cold stock other than I did an unfinished Boyds stock for it. I guess I put the heavy barrel on it long ago. Didn't replace the trigger or any of that. Yet.

The Western Auto was my father in laws. He took very good care of his stuff and often bought stuff and never used it. I remember he had an old Johnson outboard motor probably from the 50's. Small like 5 hp or less. He kept it in the original cardboard box it came in. He used it from time to time but it was virtually new. Even the box was in good shape.

That CZ is an absolute GEM. Nice handling, very accurate and not heavy. The Mossberg despite it's heavy look and full length wood stock is very light and easy to shoot. I've been looking for a dust cover for that one for years. Never scored. Need to check around again, it's been awhile. I see them on guns at the gunshow once in awhile. Tempted to bring a screwdriver and get me one. Nobody of course wants to part with them.
Don't really do anything anyhow but nice to be complete. My son has the commercial version, a few differences but darn nice too. I think his is tube feed rather than a magazine.

I do wear underwear, sometimes I wear clean underwear.

My 10/22 is all stock except I added sling swivels and keep playing with different sights. I'm more than satisfied with its trigger and accuracy.

Bawanna, I have a Ward's Western Field just like your Mossberg 42MB. It was my father's when he was a kid. Just iron sights, no peep. I'll post a picture tonight, if I remember.

Hope you remember. I'd love to see that picture.

My Win. 67A is kind of a "classic" plinker:

This Winchester is almost too pretty to say it's a plinker. I'd call it a "plinkah".

              As Promised, Ward's Western Field, 14M 499A 22 S-L-LR:

I would guess that it was purchased in the late 30's or early 40's. It's missing the front sling swivel and the red safety indicator. I'll replace those one of these days when I can can afford to spend a ridiculous amount of money on something I don't need. I'd also like to set it up with a red dot sight, just for giggles.

Man that really is a spittin image of my Mossberg. I'm sure my rear sight was put on by the British when it was over there.

This gives me another option to search for my missing dust cover too.

And something else to look for at gunshows too. That's pretty cool.

I bet magazines would interchange too.

IIRC, the Mossberg branded model came with the peep sight. The Mossberg 42M was sold under several House brands, each with different options.

I think Numrich will have them. That's where I found the front sling swivel for about $50.

I have yet to see one at a gunshow.

Yes, they are the same. Does yours still have the screw in spacer to convert the magazine to 22 short. Dad lost his years ago. That's another pricey part.

                      That's exactly what I thought.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I've checked Numrich/Gun Parts Inc regularly for a couple years. Always out but I only checked Mossberg. Greg just sent me a link to one, I put a bid on it. Hope I get it, one less thing ya know?

I have yet to see one at a gunshow.

I don't know what that spacer is or what it looks like. I don't see any place for that on mine.

It screws up into the bottom of the mag so the the shorts stay at the front of the mag. Look at the bottom of the mag and you should see a hole.

You don't see a MAB P15 very often...I've held one. It looked very well made; if I remember correctly, it had some heft to it. Thanks for sharing!
