No way! She was beat after a long couple of nights! Maybe some women could muster the strength to do that... I'm glad I'm not married to one of them!

Congrats Lorenzo. Hope you had a great birthday surveyor. Since this is an anything goes thread I thought I would put a pic of my new shooter I bought day before yesterday. It's a Rytara Alien Nemesis set at 60 pounds.

I'll confess, You all know I've been pretty lonely lately! I
ended up with an older woman at a bar last night. She looked pretty good
for 60 plus. In fact, she wasn't too bad at all, and I found myself
thinking she probably had a really hot daughter. We drank a couple of
beers, and she asked if I'd ever had a Sportsman's Double? 'What's that?
I asked. 'It's a mother and daughter threesome,' she said. As my mind
began to embrace the idea, and I wondered what her daughter might look
like, I said, 'No, I haven't.' We drank a bit more, then she said with a
wink, 'tonight's your lucky night'. We went back to her place. We walked
in. She put on the hall light and shouted upstairs: 'Mom...you still
        awake?'

Very nice looking rig. I must admit that the technology improvements and changes have left me in the dark ages from when I was a bow hunter. Wood riser, I did have energy cams, I see now they usually just have one round and one egg shaped.
The sights the weight, the whole deal is in the space age these day.
I had a small compact Martin Bobcat which was real handy hunting and it adjusted up to 75 pounds back when I was man enough to pull it.
Later when my neck and upper back started having fits I had to dial it down to 55 or 60 but it still worked fine.

Haven't pulled on a bow string in many years. My son bought one a few years ago, not sure what brand, looks similar to your new setup. He shoots it well.

One of my most puffed up days was getting a mountain goat with that Martin. Like a 12 day chase before the ambush presented itself. Great fun, saw them alot, getting close enough to pet was a real challenge.

          Those were the days.

Dammmm! Is that a new improved artillery piece? Put tracks on that puppy and you got a tank. What happened to the Robin Hood type bow?

Now me, I'd try walkin in the woods with that and scare away all the critters cussin as I try to untangle it from the brush.

Dang it woman, you mess that one up all the time. It's not poison, it's crack, and it's in the batter. Honestly, man can't even get people hooked on their biscuits anymore without you messin' up the rotation. Have to go eat breakfast in the morning, thanks for reminding me.

Your right Bawanna there is nothing like getting in close when hunting big game. By the way that Rytara is made by Martin as well, one of my early bows was a Martin Warthog. Hi Lincoln, The bow is not as big as it looks, it weighs 4lbs and is 34 inches axle to axle.

I looked at the Warthog when I bought my Bobcat. So long ago I don't recall why I chose that. It was compact and simple.

That Rytara is really light, much lighter than it looks and at 34" it's pretty handy sized too.

Glad Martin is still around anyhow. When my son showed interest I got out the Bobcat and neglected to tighten the limbs enough. I wanted to shoot it first and it was ugly. All heck broke lose, pulley's and cables and stuff flew everywhere. Maybe I'll send it back and see if they can restore it.

One of these days I'm going to learn the bow, but I'll start and likely finish with either a take down or a recurve. I like the feel and look of those far better than I do the compound. The compound is mighty nice to shoot all day, but the old bows are what I really like.

Hi jlottmc, you will be addicted if you do get one. I have been kicking around getting a traditional bow as well. I am going to have to wait a while though, if I buy another one the wife will more than likely beat on the head with it.:19:

I guess I finished my mouring my poor little Porky dog. I went down to the pound and rescued a red heeler, about a year old. A little puppy left in him, but not so much he wears you out. Meet Rojo (spanish for red, except I pronounce it with the J sound not the H as it should be). Someone had adopted him once but brought him back cause he didn't get along with their cats. He does ok with my cats, they just bat at him and he takes off running. LOL It was half price weekend at the pound, so I got him for half price. That was nice.

I'm kinda weird in that respect, I like old stuff and old ways. For example, when I build my next muzzle loader, it will be a flintlock. I've always said it is better to learn the hard way of doing things first, then when comfortable with that, switch over to the power tools. I will teach my daughter in this way too.
My wife really wouldn't care if I came home with a bow instead of a gun, she'd say it's cheaper, and as long as we have the money to play with would be ok with it.
