Really good to hear wife's ok....if you can call a pelvic fracture ok. All best wishes for a fast recovery!Originally posted by Bawanna View PostThanks Salty.
I didn't think I was gonna be in much of a Positive mood for awhile, my wife got bucked off her horse Tuesday evening and I spent all night in 2 emergency rooms. Turns out she fractured her pelvis, but docs said it would heal on it's own. Ribs and everything else bruised and beat up, finally let us out about 7 the next morning and took forever to get her in a car and out at home.
BUT after sleeping most of the day yesterday and last night she's a 100% improved over yesterday. Still using a walker but taking regular steps and moving around at will without me as a spotter. I might have to go back to work tomorrow.
I sure enjoyed sleeping last night after being up all night and all day yesterday.
Not cut out for all nighters anymore I guess.
Before anyone ask, Jocko already offer a fair price for the Pinto. (He's still alive.) Pretty horse or he'd be headed for Iowa.
Figure she must not have put the saddle on right or something, he's not mean and never bucked before. Only had him a couple months but he's usually pretty mild mannered for being 7.
So life is indeed good. I'm gonna go whittle for the first time in about a month. Kind of cooled and clouded a bit today, perfect bench day.NRA Benefactor

Had fun at the range today and last Thursday. Shot the PM9 and my new 1911 today. I'm improving with the PM9 (staying on paper), then I blasted out the center with the 1911!
Last Thursday I shot my CW9, and when I got back and was cleaning it and thinking "what a great gun". Really, that is a nice pistol! The design is simple and yet elegant (in a utilitarian way). All the parts are machined well and fit together great. It is compact and still shoots almost like a duty sized pistol.

Being an American
I keep thinking I need a 1911 in either 9mm or 10mm.Originally posted by ltxi View PostDenver gun show tomorrow. With all the time in the world to rebuild my rusty gunsmith talents, I'm going lookin' for a 9mm 1911 platform to build somethin' on.
Don't know why I feel like that.
Came very close to getting a 1911 45 recently.
But went with a HK USP45 Tactical instead.
So far I'm very happy with that discussion.
But the idea of some sort of 1911 keeps haunting me...
Maybe part of me feels like that's the American thing to do?

theday I own a 1911 is the day I will be riding down the main street of sturgis on a pink goldwiner. Just sayin
wearing flipflops.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

So I bought this 8 round mag to use in my CM9 at the range to "simulate" my CW45 grip but shoot some cheaper ammo.
I was gonna make some kind of grip extension but for those interested, Harrylee can fix you up. He's has these extensions that he made that fit like a factory part and give a full grip for times that you want one. Very, Very nice. You could use this IWB if desired.
Bawanna, there's another whittler in the neighborhood.
Check these out

The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I tried earlier tonight to post a pic of mrs surv and me stomping around with crampons on our feet on top of a glacier in Alaska on my 60th birthday a few days ago (actually celebrating our 40th anniversary from much earlier in the year). My "free" photobucket account has turned to krap, and I couldn't figure out how to upload a pic here .... so just imagine two unbelievable human specimens standing on top of the world (well... at least one)....
I'm back
