G23 is the winner. I was feeling a bit low the other day so I encouraged my wife to play on the computer while I watched it again turned up to where even I could hear it (along with the distant neighbors). By the time it was over and we had "kicked some alien booty" I felt much better.

Bawanna you are indeed a master of the fine art of grip design and fabrication. I love the finger grips and from what I could tell it appeared to fit tight from all angles.

This is out of that same Hippo tooth with all the outside layer removed so it's all one color and smoother than a babies backside.

Well here's the finished project on the first set of Hippo Ivory grips. I abandoned the two tone stag look as it just made the grip too thick. I thought about thinning from the back and maintaining that look which I liked but went this route instead.

It took me all day to go from the previous photos to what you see here. That outside layer is some kind of tough stuff.

I did have to leave a little contour, not enough material to make a uniform slab and a tiny bit of the tough stuff was left at the top of each grip. I kind of like the contour myself, adds a bit of character.

Still a hunk left but I think I'll take a little hiatus from this stuff, even the hardest ebony will be like balsa wood compared to this stuff but it is real pretty and cool stuff.

Those turned out real nice. Do they feel good in your hand?

They feel real good. I've found what really makes a smooth grip click is a checkered front strap. That gives you a good solid grip and hold but the beauty of a smooth grip.

I'm tempted to try checkering this stuff. I think it would checker nice but I'm once again skeered, don't want to try it and have it not work.

Kind of a don't mess with perfection or don't fix what ain't broken kind of deal.
