      • The color of the gun, wood and inlays just works great! There is a muted look to the whole thing and it really sets off the inlays without making them look obnoxious. It is a classy piece.

I was VERY worried about the safety when I first tried to put them onto the gun. When they finally fell into place, there is JUST enough clearance for the safety. I would shoot it, but I want him to be the first.

The desert would have been my very first guess!

Pictures are hard to tell anything but is there plenty of clearance on the mag release on the right side.

And I hate to be picky but there's little black spot on the rim of the pin on the right side, might be a little release agent I missed or migrated. Should wipe right off.

I had to use the bleeder valve on my swelled head 3 times since you posted, I'm thrilled with how nice those look on a already beautiful gun.

              • I rubbed the black stuff off the inlay after taking the pics. The mag release clearance is perfect. The thing that amazes me the most is how flush they are to the bottom of the mag well. In the pics, there is a relection toward the front of the mag well that makes it look odd. I went back to look and it is so tight that it seems like you finished the grips while on the gun. It is THAT flush.

My wife just saw the gun and read the forum...not a dry eye.

                            • Itsthelaw, that is one beautiful 1911--the grips look so sleek! I love the black-on-black look. It makes the Army emblem really pop on the grips.
