Crap, I kind of dropped the ball on that didn't I. I thought I'd posted all that.
You'll have to refresh my memory on what specific news your waiting on.

The Growl like I posted a picture of is 80 bucks engraved, no tax plus whatever it cost to ship.

Any other knives on the site he thought could be 20 to 30% off.

    • What about no engraving but with grips you make?

Not exactly the same stuff but you get the idea.

Bawanna did you ever get any of the Afzalia Ley stuff in?

        Comment

        • I did but it's sized for a K or MK. Frankly it's not as pretty as the last stuff either.

I'm trying to put together some loot to order some more. I have one piece on order, the guy is real good but he ain't too quick shipping. Course he has to cut it and stabilize it and all but he said next week and it's been like a month. I still like him and trust his product though.

I'll make a note to get more of that. You thinking SP101 or something else?

AIRret- he doesn't charge for engraving so it would still be 80 bucks. The grips would depend on what we make them out of. I can't keep giving away the stabilized stuff, wife says giving it away and paying shipping is not helping me get money to buy more. She's an economic wizard she is.......
I can do real reasonable on some wood that I have and it doesn't take a huge piece so even the stabilized shouldn't be a kings ransom.

          • Bawanna, if you need cash, let me know and I can PP you some so we can get grip wood to you so you can pump out grips.

            • Naw we're not there yet but appreciate the offer.

By the way I'm still waiting for that special ordered piece for you. Remember the one the guy said he'd process next week about a month ago.

I got some I'm working on. Making some SP101 panels, that was a great idea for those single pieces.

Still have that last set of 1911 grips and a few others. Need to post pictures again and find them a good home.

Like to build up a stock but I find that stock usually isn't what you need. Everyone wants something just a bit different and that's a good thing. I live for different. Ok, I'm different. I admit it.

              • I'm not interested in engraving because one day my family members will have ownership
of my guns and knifes and my step sons (who are like my own if I would have been able to have them) probably wouldn't want my name on His knife.

I am more than willing to pay the going price for the wood, labor, and shipping. I'll PM you and we'll work things out.

                • The guys here are pressuring me to have bawanna engraved on the slide of my Cbob with matching handles so it would be a matched pair.

At first I liked the idea but I'm having second thoughts. I think it would be pretty cool and I'll probably never sell it and when my kids get it I don't think it would be a negative.

                  Kind of still undecided.

                  • No worries. I still really like the set you checkered for me. They are smooth but grippy, stylish, but classy at the same time.

                    • I just had to add a picture of Bawanna's "Skip" Checkering he added to my grips. Background reqmts were: I didnt' want to lose the wood grain and after looking thru this Thread decided on Skip Checkering to provide larger triangles that would expose the wood better and catch the light. He is a talented craftsman and generous guy.

You take a fine picture and make me look good.

                          WOW, I absolutely, love it.
If I was not a lefty (new to it) and wearing a ring that chews up grips I'd have
                          some grips in that pattern.
                          VERY NICE

                          • I hadn't thought of a ring messing up a grip but it certainly would. I'm a righty so no problem.

                            • I wear my ring in my nose, so not an issue.

My finger ring usually wears a spot on the front strap, especially on a double stack gun.

                              • Well I spent a couple days whittling out SP101 inserts. Here's some pics.

Not positive if this is Coco Bolo or Ebony and I've since checkered them up to add a bit to them.

Not certain on wood type with these.

                                Buckeye Burl, stabilized.

Box Elder. These have already found a home.

All up for grabs except the Box Elder.
