    • What kind of wood would you recommend for deep red and black/dark brown grain? I am getting any trying to sit on my hands. I can send pics if you need.

I'm not getting this? The colors you describe would almost certainly have to be dyed like stabilized wood. (incidently, I'm still waiting for that piece I ordered what a month and half ago).

Not getting any sitting on your hands? Do I really want to see a picture of that?

          • Stuff like that. And my tablet decides to add words sometimes. I am sitting on my hands, but patiently.

            • Are you sitting on your hands (patiently) waiting for me?

              On the MK grips?

I sent a message to the stabilized wood guy telling him next week turning into the next quarter isn't making it for me and you.

Am I forgetting something else? It happens, I get mixed up lately.

If I've forgotten anyone else, rattle the cage, squeaky wheel and all that stuff. I don't like forgetting folks.

                • Yeah Coco Bolo would cover all those looks pictured. It varies tremendously even in the same piece of wood.

See it almost like Zebra wood with vertical grain, wild figure going all directions (my favorite) and everything in between.

I need to get up to the wood store and try and get some, I'm pretty much on empty.

I am working some as we speak. Didn't know what it was until I started working it and the dust, taste, numb hands, and head being a little out of whack all scream Coco Bolo.

It's beautiful stuff but it mess's with the body.

                  • Coco bolo would work then! And yes, I am referring to the MK grips we talked about. I personally like swirls and contrast FWIW.

                    • Well cinch up your britches nimdabew, I still got my notes sitting in the same place on my bench from when you was there. I haven't forgotten you and if my stabilized guy don't come through I'll get up to Everett and get some Coco if they have some nice stuff.

Used to have tons of everything, last time I was there they didn't have much of anything.

                        • Just got back from the wood store. It was rather lean again, not much to even look at. I did get a piece of Rosewood that looks very much like the second photo in nimbadews post.

I'll have to look at the slip, already forgot what it's called. 32 bucks a board foot!

They had a large piece of ebony not completely useable due to sap wood and a few cracks. roughly 2 1/2' by maybe 7" average. They sell it by the pound.

It was 186 bucks. I wanted it but not that bad, so I left it.

Need to scout out another wood supplier.
